A balustrade is essential to safely barricade any verandah, deck, balcony, stairs, staircases, landing or any area that has a fall greater than 1m. By law, you are required to balustrade anything with a fall of over 1m.

SO WHICH BALUSTRADE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
There are many glass balustrading as well as aluminium balustrading options available and there are pros and cons to them all. The choice may ultimately come down to the design of your home, your budget and also common sense. We are highly experienced in both domestic and commercial installations so, as industry experts, we are able to make any recommendations if required.

Glass balustrading offers such a modern and stylish finish to your home though can act as a wind break. If you love the ocean breeze on your verandah on a warm summer afternoon then an Aluminium balustrade may be a better option for you. 

Aluminium balustrading lets the breeze through, but maybe you're sick of the harsh coastal winds on your balcony and long for the wind barrier glass would provide.

Glass is a wonderfully seamless and unobtrusive choice but if installed externally it may need to be washed down with a hose once every week or so to maintain its sleek and stylish look. Proximity to sea breezes and pool splashes may increase the cleaning required. 

A narrow staircase might be best suited to a side fixed glass panel system to help maintain a sense of space and sleek aesthetic, but this choice is harder on the budget.

Many things to be considered, maybe the best solution comes down to what is most practical for your lifestyle, your budget or what suits the style of your home.

GLASS BALUSTRADING

Frameless Glass Balustrading utilises spigot posts to support the glass from underneath.
Semi-Frameless Glass Balustrading uses full height posts in between each panel of glass. 
Side Fixed Glass Balustrading uses button fittings to support glass.
Glass Stair Balustrading in any of the styles mentioned above is no problem at all.

  • GLASS: We use only premium quality clear toughened safety glass manufactured to meet Australian standards. Glass can be frosted or made to custom sizes if required.
  • SPIGOTS, POSTS OR BUTTON FITTINGS: The glass is installed using spigots, posts or button fittings made of either 316 marine grade stainless steel or anodized aluminium. We also stock Matte Black range to complement modern home designs.
  • TOP RAIL & HAND RAIL: Balustrades are installed with or without a top rail depending on the fall below. By law you are required to balustrade any area with a fall of over 1 meter and glass is required to have a top rail. Handrails can be added for ease of use on staircases and landings.

ALUMINIUM BALUSTRADING

Aluminium Balustrading is the perfect choice for your stairs, balcony, deck or verandah. Balustrades can be designed to have either a modern style or a more traditional feel.
